Validate Footprints - Flood Damage Detection Upper Trishuli and Bhote Koshi-POST FLOOD - Nepal (1) HOT

Project overview

This dataset validates AI generated damage assessment data from [HOT's fAIr model](https://fair.hotosm.org/) as part of an urgent disaster mapping response to the devastating floods and mudslides that swept through the Lhende Khola river valley in Nepal, leading to a heavy toll on lives and critical infrastructure on 26 August 2026. In response to this tragedy, Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) and NAXA has launched a mapping initiative, in collaboration with the local mapping community, to support ongoing humanitarian efforts. We are seeking volunteer mappers to contribute essential mapping data to local responders, helping them plan and coordinate both immediate emergency relief and long-term reconstruction efforts. ### Help us validate AI-generated building damage assessments. Your contribution helps improve the accuracy of damage data used by responders on the ground. Learn more about the response [here](https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Organised_Editing/Activities/Nepal_Floods_2026/).
